Feeling the need to bring a little bit of home along for the ride, we’ve added a new member to the team! We’d like to welcome our new mascot, The Edmonton Oilers Garden Gnome. Unfortunately, when we told him that were making a road trip to the desert, I think he figured that we were talking about checking out a game against the Phoenix Coyotes, and I’m still not sure why, but he put on his skates – it’s going to be a rough day when we have to break it to him that not only are we not going to the game, but also that his skates won’t be very useful in the Gobi.

Also, yes we know. It’s not a great name, is it? No worries though, we’ve got more than enough time to come up with a name for him, but feel free to toss your ideas at us until we do decide on something.

… and just for the record, chances are, he’ll be strapped to the front of the roof rack for most of the drive (we haven’t told him that part yet either).
